For our honeymoon I brought the Kelvin Cooler backpack cooler with us. We only wanted one carryon and one checked suitcase for each of us when we traveled. The Kelvin Cooler was ideal. I loaded it with Jennifer’s curling iron, our jackets, my laptop, charging cables, battery charger, sunscreen, snacks, selfie stick, first aid kit, my neck pillow, and my running shoes. This backpack cooler only weighs 1.5 lbs when empty, but it can hold up to 26 liters so it can easily satisfy your needs on any adventure.
Athens is a beautiful capital with many historic sites. The Parthenon was our first stop and it was HOT that day. We emptied the backpack cooler and filled it with a few water bottles, juices, a selfie stick, a DSLR camera, sunscreen, a battery charger and some snacks to keep us going in the heat. Everything we packed came in handy that day!
The Parthenon is a former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron. The Parthenon is regarded as the finest example of Greek architecture. It’s definitely cool to see and learn about the history of the Parthenon, but it was even better to grab a drink at night from the rooftop bar at the Royal Olympic Hotel when the Parthenon is lit up. This is the perfect spot with a great view and delicious cocktails. Amazing!
After Athens we hopped on a 2 prop plane to head over to Mykonos. Mykonos can be reached by boat, but with a plane you are there in 26 minutes from Athens. I failed to tell my wife about the two prop plane and you can tell by the look on her face that she was a little shocked.
Nonetheless she said it was worth the plane ride because Mykonos is absolutely gorgeous and the weather was beautiful. Not a cloud in the sky. We stayed at the best hotel, Petasos Beach Hotel and Spa. This 5 star resort has its own private beach and that is exactly what we needed for our honeymoon. The Kelvin Cooler backpack cooler was absolutely ideal! Each day we filled it with bottles of champagne, beer, water, sunscreen, a bluetooth speaker, and snacks. Perfect for our own little beach party!
Each morning we were greeted with a delicious brunch to start our day that always included a few glasses of champagne. We spent three days here watching luxury yachts and sailboats pull up and drop anchor. Spending a few days on the beach was exactly what we needed to decompress from the wedding and the long flights. Not only was the private beach beautiful, but the pools at the resort were too! The Kelvin Cooler backpack came in handy there too.
Our second island after Mykonos was of course Santorini. Jennifer and I arranged a sunset boat cruise around the island that allowed us to snorkel, swim near an active volcano, and get a tour of the island from the Med. Of course we took our Kelvin Cooler backpack with us and shared all of the ice cold beers we brought with all of the other cruise guests.
Greece was a fantastic trip. Everyone we met was super friendly. Mykonos was by far our favorite, but we can’t wait to head out to Greece again to explore some of the other beautiful islands!

I decided to do an ice test the other day when the weather was 72 degrees and sunny. I bought a infrared thermometer to measure the temp of the bag and measure the temp inside the bag. Bear in mind that this is not the most scientific test but the best way I could come up with.
It was noon on a Wednesday and the outside temperature of the backpack cooler was 104 degrees. I took a second shot of the inside of the bag and the ice was 37. Kinda thought it would be 32 but whatever.
I left the backpack cooler out in direct sunlight and overnight for 48 hours. Below is after 48 hours and there was water but that is to be expected however I was really impressed that one the backpack cooler didn't leak or sweat and to top it off it still had a considerable amount of ice. I mean let's be realistic here, if you are heading to a tailgate or picnic and think it would be a rare occurrence someone would need to keep their beverages over 48hours. Still pretty impressive!
This was our final test. We added some chest straps and waist straps - yes they tuck inside the bag when not in use. The waist strap will be key for people with a smaller frame (under 5'6") as it will take the weight off the shoulders quite a bit.
